The Physics of Pigment
Color correction is subtractive color mixing. When you place complementary colors over each other, they absorb a wider spectrum of light, resulting in a neutral gray/brown (depending on the value). The goal is not to 'cover' the dark circle, but to shift its color temperature so it matches the surrounding skin.
